Framing Nature: Animals through Art

Nature: Animals through Art invites us to consider the different ways animals have been portrayed in the visual arts, what these images say about our relationship to the natural world, and how art shapes our ways of thinking about the beasts and creatures we study, hunt, admire, fear, and adore. The exhibit brings together American and European works on paper from the seventeenth century to the present, including collection highlights, works rarely exhibited, and some presented for the first time.
