- **Event Description**: This year the Whittlesea Fire Brigade is celebrating 100 years of service to the community. Whittlesea Fire Brigade was formed by local volunteers on 17th December 1926 following devastating bushfires which swept across the Mt Disappointment Ranges to Kinglake.

This year the brigade will be hosting a number of activities and initiatives. One such event will be a Torchlight March through the Church Street shopping precinct on Saturday, 29th August.  

Firefighters will be marching with traditional lanterns led by the Victoria Police Pipes and Drums band and CFA vehicles, will march in teams representing their brigade. Judges positioned along the procession route will score each brigade on their marching ability and overall presentation.

Marching will commence at 7pm. Keep an eye on local shop windows for posters and visit Whittlesea Fire Brigade Facebook for updates.
