Five years in, the Winter Blast 2.0 has found its home as THE premier warmup race for the upcoming Snowbird Nationals in Orlando, FL (first week of February). Please read below for details regarding this fine event. For those of you that are new, what IS the PRW Special Events Center? We are THE premier carpet oval racetrack/venue in the Northeast, boasting a temporary rollout track that is as identical to the Snowbird Nationals as possible (dimensions, carpet, barriers, ice, etc). We host multiple weekend-long events per indoor season where RC racers can experience the true "national event" atmosphere right here in CNY, take real notes and collect setup data for future events, and go up against the best competition that carpet oval racing has to offer. Combine that with PRW's exciting color commentary, efficient program management and high-energy promotion, and you have a venue that racers and sponsors flock to from all over the U.S. and Canada! Session clock will be turned on when a line starts to form (one session, leave stand, hop back in line if you wish). Great time to drop in, set up your pits, run some laps and unwind from your travels. PLEASE DO NOT GO ON THE TRACK UNTIL you have signed up and paid/confirmed pre-entries. You can always add, drop or swap classes any time. - Friday 1/2: Practice all day from 8:00am to 10:45pm. Practice is "open" - group together based on same or like-speed vehicles. Exclusive class sessions TBD, will be announced if so. PLEASE DO NOT GO ON THE TRACK UNTIL you have signed up and paid/confirmed pre-entries. - Saturday 1/3: Doors open at 7:00am, timed practice until 8:30 (signups close at 8, heats to be posted ASAP after). Track closes at 8:30 for drivers meeting, American & Canadian National Anthems, and ice cleaning. Round 1 begins at 9:00am sharp, all 3 rounds of qualifying will be run Saturday (rocket round, re-sort each round). Practice between rounds TBD based on turnout and pace of schedule. HARD STOP at 10:45pm, whether that be end of qualifying or practice if any time is left over. Facility closes at 11pm. - Sunday 1/4: Doors open at 7:00am, final practice until 9:45, ice to be cleaned after. First B-Main will start at 10am SHARP - B-Main winners receive awards. Short intermission after B's for main prep and 50/50 raffle ticket drawing. Trophy presentation and photos will occur at the podium after each main event has completed. Finish time goal: 2-3pm. We would greatly appreciate your help with stacking tables/chairs next to the back door by our storage container; many hands make light work! - POST-RACE PRACTICE AVAILABLE! The track will be open immediately after racing concludes and the pits are torn down on Sunday until doors close. Track available all day until mid-afternoon on Monday 1/5. Practice Sunday night is FREE to those that raced the event, $20 to those that did not. $20 all-day fee for Monday 1/5, for all. PIT SPOT RESERVATION, PRE-ENTRY - Pit spot reservation and class pre-registration will open at 8:00pm eastern on Wednesday, December 17. Both located at pembertonraceworks.com. The same fee structure as always - $60 first class, $40/ea additional, kids 14 and under $30 (unlimited classes).
