The public is invited to two, in-person presentations starting at 7:30 PM, made by groundwater scientists conducting research in Whitehorse and the Southern Lakes area. A Panel discussion with the scientists will follow.

The Yukon is the second most groundwater dependent jurisdiction in Canada, with 98% of Yukoners relying on groundwater as their primary water source via either municipal systems or private domestic water wells. Yukon’s groundwater represents a critical population-sustaining resource and has strong connectivity with our lakes and river systems, with implications for lake level monitoring and flood and drought study.


The presentations are free and will be held at Beringia Interpretive Centre at 7:30 PM  following the 6 PM Annual General Meeting. Free cookies and coffee/tea will  be offered at 7 PM.
