If you’ve not attended a convention here in the past, then ask around and we’re sure you’ll hear only positive things. So, come on out and see what’s taking place across the state and spend some great social time with your comrades.

Convention is a time for all members of the SAL from across the state of Maryland to come together and hear about the great things we’ve accomplished in the past administrative year.
The weekend long event (Friday to Sunday):

Friday starts the weekend off with our Golf tournament in the morning, registration in the late afternoon and hospitality rooms in the evening.

Saturday will kick off with our Opening Ceremony, guest speakers and programs recognition.

Saturday afternoon continues with our Picinic hosted by the four Regions (Hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.) and then our Horseshoe and Coed Corn-hole tournament in the afternoon at Overlea Perry Hall Post 130.  

Saturday evening continues with the hospitality rooms and Regional Caucuses, where new candidates for Detachment Officers visit and the Detachment Commander comes to extend his appreciation for the year.

Sunday begins with a Memorial Service and is then followed by our last administrative actions for the year, which include the election and installation of the officers for the administrative year 2026 – 2027.
