Machine Appliqué Basics Class
Learn the fundamentals of machine appliqué in this beginner-friendly class using the First-Time Appliqué book by Janet Pittman. In class, students will focus on creating one or more appliqué blocks, learning techniques that can be applied to many different projects.
Our sample projects, including a table runner, a bag, and a pouch, are inspiration, demonstrating how completed appliqué blocks can become the focal point of larger projects. Students are encouraged to get creative and decide how they would like to incorporate their finished block(s)into future projects.
In this class, students will learn how to:
Prepare fabrics using paper-backed fusible web
Stitch appliqué shapes using a zig zag stitch for clean, secure edges
Use stabilizers and marking tools to achieve accurate placement and professional results
This class is a great introduction to machine appliqué and will give students the confidence to design and complete appliqué projects in a variety of ways.
