For decades, Brian Belobradic has been the heart and soul of pool in and around Durham. 

There is no shortage of adjectives for Brian – friend, mentor, competitor, gentleman. He’s not just a member of CPA Durham, he is a cornerstone of it. From league nights to playoff weekends, singles boards, and what seems like yearly trips to Vegas, if you play (or played) CPA Durham, you have encountered Brian in some way. His reputation reaches far beyond CPA Durham – he’s well known throughout Canada and the United States for his exceptional skill and commanding presence. 

His legacy goes beyond trophies and Vegas trips. Brian is truly a gentleman in the pool community, never hesitating to take time to help other people with their game. It’s not uncommon to see Brian recreating shots or scenarios with people, offering suggestions and clever insight into the intricacies of each unique situation. Brian always maintains a positive outlook when at the table, even when rolls don’t go his way. In addition to his undeniably impressive pool playing, Brian has always been a gentleman and a friend to many in our pool community. 

But now Brian is facing the toughest challenge of his life. As many of you know, he has been diagnosed with Grade 4 glioblastoma - an aggressive type of brain cancer. Unfortunately, due to the location of the tumor, surgery is not an option. Now, Brian begins a long and difficult journey of treatment. 

Treatment is physically and financially exhausting. Between hospital stays, medications, travel, and time away from work, the costs add up fast. It is time for us to step up and Rally for Brian – time for us to give back to a man who has given our community so much over the past several decades. 

Every dollar raised will go directly to Brian and his family to help cover medical expenses, support his recovery, and ease the financial burden so he can focus on fighting.

Brian’s been in our corner for decades. Let’s be in his now.

On July 25th, Rally for Brian, our fundraiser tournament, will take place at Michelle’s Billiards in Whitby. Details can be found in this event page. If the tournament fills, please come and participate in the various 50/50 draws, silent auctions, and break and run challenge table, all of which will raise money to support Brian. 

We understand that this tournament is taking place in the heart of summer. If you are unable to attend the tournament, you can still help by making a donation. Donations can be sent to simonyeung82@hotmail.com. 

Additionally, you can share this information with others in and out of the pool community. 

Thank you for standing with a legend. Let’s show Brian the same loyalty and heart he’s shown all of us for countless years.
