The doors of the church are opened! You your family and friends are invited to Homecoming Service at Mount Carmel Church of God in Christ Jesus, Sunday, November 30 at 11:30am.
Homecoming often means returning to the church where someone grew up. Mount Carmel has a special twist on that history. Our tradition was shaped within The Church of God in Christ Jesus New Deal Incorporated, where our churches came together at conferences, traveled to conventions, and represented our congregations through greetings, songs, and shared worship. This spirit of gathering is what Homecoming means for us.
In 2025, our Homecoming service will follow those same traditions. Each church will have the opportunity to bring greetings, and each congregation may share a song as we did for decades in The Grand Ole Church of God in Christ Jesus.” The late, Apostle Samuel T. Moore and Mother Geraldine B. Moore, founded Mount Carmel Church in Enfield and served faithfully in this body. Their leadership, along with the work of the Evangelist Carrington, Overseer Bynum, Mother Griffin, Mother Newman, Evangelist Butts, and Chief Apostle Amos, and many others, shaped the foundation we still stand on today.
Although many saints have transitioned and many members now worship in different places, our roots remain connected. During the service, we will have a special moments to remember those who have gone on and honor the legacy they left for us as well as acknowledging the growth of the saints that carry on the passion of living for Christ in diverse locations.
This is your personal invite. We welcome every church, every family, and every friend to take part in this tradition. Join us as we worship, reconnect, and glorify the work the Lord has done!! 🤍🙌🏿
