- **Event Description**: Join local artist and tutor Gail for this creative workshop learning how to make your own sketchbook/journal/notebook.

Gail will teach you how to use different types of papers, including old maps, music paper, lined paper, patterned paper, brown paper, plain paper etc. to create your book.

You will spend some time choosing from all the lovely papers, working out which patterns and colours to put together – you will then learn how to stitch bind to finish your bespoke book.

Having made the book we will then (time permitting) begin to decorate and embellish it as you wish.

The workshop will run in our private Map Room and includes a cuppa to enjoy during the session.

After the workshop why not treat yourself to a spot of lunch from our café or go for a little wander in the beautiful lower Derwent Valley from our doorstep.

You could gift the journal or buy the workshop ticket as a Mother’s Day present (we can create a gift voucher – please get in touch after booking your ticket).

Booking essential as places are limited, tickets £30 including all materials and a tea/coffee freshly brewed from our café.  If you have papers or embellishments you wish to include, by all means bring them along, but all materials will be provided.
