About the musicians: ‘Northern Roots’ are Bill Elliott (Elliott’s of Birtley), Kevin Youldon and Katherine Raine. Bill and Kevin play a variety of instruments – Guitars, Mandolin, Cittern and have played music together for over 30 years. Katherine plays Fiddle and is a fine musician. Northern Roots have played in folk clubs, festivals and special concerts. You may also have seen them at ‘The Durham Miner’s Gala’, where they’ve performed for the last 3 years. ‘Evergreen’ are three musicians playing multiple instruments with accompanying vocals and blended harmonies. They will be performing songs from popular music’s ‘golden years’ that will always be ‘evergreen’. Expect to tap your toes along to tunes by Lindisfarne, Rod Stewart, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young and more. ‘Scoops n Smiles’ will be parked beside the Courtyard, serving up a fantastic selection of real dairy ice cream from their charming retro van. Whether you love classic flavours or something a little different, there’s a scoop (or two!) waiting to make you smile. Our café will be open as usual, serving breakfasts, lunch, home-baked scones, cakes, cookies, and plenty more to tempt you. No need to book – free for café customers, just turn up for a great afternoon of live music and food.
