Curious Minds Club: American Revolution

In January 1776, the idea of American independence seemed unthinkable to most. How could 13 scattered colonies unite to form a nation against the might of Great Britain? Reconciliation was the prevailing sentiment. Yet, in a matter of months, the tide of public opinion turned dramatically, and the fight for independence began. What sparked such a rapid and profound shift?

Join us at Addolorata Villa for the next meeting of our Curious Minds Club to find out! On Thursday, April 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., we will host a fascinating multimedia presentation, "Debating Independence: The American Revolution in 1776."

This captivating session will be led by historian and public speaker Joyce Haworth, who will transport us back to this pivotal moment in American history. Ms. Haworth will explore how a king's blunders, a powerful essay and the realities of warfare convinced the colonies to forge a new nation.
