- **Event Description**: A weekly mentorship lab for yoga teachers and trainees focused on presence, practice, teaching skills, and real-world application.About this EventCome sit beside me for tea. There is nothing you need to accomplish today, no certification waiting at the end of a checklist, and no expectation that you become someone other than who you already are. This is simply an invitation to pause, breathe, and consider that there may be possibilities worth exploring.Over the years, I have discovered that people rarely arrive at yoga teacher training because they want to memorize anatomy terms or learn Sanskrit pronunciation. Those things matter and certainly have their place, but they are seldom the reason someone first walks through the door. More often, people arrive because something in life is shifting. Children are growing older, careers are changing, relationships are evolving, retirement is approaching, or one season is ending as another begins. Sometimes the change is joyful, and sometimes it arrives unexpectedly. At other times, it appears as restlessness, curiosity, or the quiet feeling that there must be more to life than repeating the same familiar routines.Yoga teacher training has a curious way of meeting people during these moments. It does not provide every answer, but it can teach us how to ask better questions. Can you sit quietly with yourself without rushing to change what you find? Can you remain steady when the path ahead is uncertain? Can you listen deeply, respond thoughtfully, and remain open to learning even after years of experience? These are not questions that remain confined to the yoga mat. They follow us into our homes, workplaces, relationships, difficult conversations, celebrations, losses, and the ordinary moments that quietly become our lives. This is why I often tell students that yoga can be practiced anywhere. It can be practiced while folding laundry, caring for an aging parent, walking a dog beneath a summer sky, drinking tea at the kitchen table, sitting in traffic, or waiting for an answer that has not yet arrived. The postures are one beautiful doorway into yoga, but they are only a doorway. What happens after we step through is where the deeper journey begins. In our mentorship labs, we explore philosophy, teaching, anatomy, communication, ethics, and the practical responsibilities of guiding others. Beneath those conversations, however, we are also learning how to pay attention. We learn to notice ourselves, one another, the stories we carry, the habits we wish to cultivate, and the lives we hope to create. This kind of learning cannot be reduced to information alone.Information can be downloaded, studied, and stored, but mentorship unfolds through conversation. It develops through trust and grows through shared experiences, questions, reflection, and practice. A mentor cannot walk your path for you, but a mentor can walk beside you for a while. That is how I have always viewed this work. I am not here simply to stand at the front of a room and deliver answers. I am here to sit beside someone and ask what they are noticing, what feels true, what possibilities are emerging, and where they would like to go from here. The most meaningful transformations I have witnessed have rarely been dramatic. A student begins speaking with greater confidence. Someone discovers they are capable of leading a room. A person who spent years doubting themselves begins trusting their own voice, or a teacher realizes they no longer need to imitate anyone else. These changes often happen so quietly that they become visible only in hindsight. Then one day, the student who arrived searching for direction realizes they have become someone capable of offering guidance to others. That transformation does not happen because someone perfected every posture or memorized every teaching. It happens because they learned how to remain present, listen carefully, trust themselves, and continue growing. Perhaps that is what yoga teacher training is truly about. It is not about becoming an expert, collecting credentials, or arriving at a final destination. It is about developing a lifelong relationship with learning, curiosity, practice, and the unfolding nature of life.If you find yourself standing at the edge of a new season and wondering what might come next, perhaps yoga teacher training is not a path toward becoming someone different. Perhaps it is an invitation to become more fully yourself. The tea is warm, the conversation is waiting, and the possibilities remain wonderfully open.#EdgeYogaSchool #YogaAlliance #YogaTeacherTrainingAgendaWeek 1 OrientationWeek 2-21 Eight Limbs of YogaWeek 22 How to Create a ClassWeek 23 Lectures: OverviewWeek 24 Labs: OverviewWeek 25 Practicum: Overview20 Hours Yoga Anatomy Videos20 Hours Anytime Yoga Classes
