- **Event Description**: Explore Ayurvedic teaching through observation, curiosity, rhythm, meaningful choice, supportive language, and tea.About this EventThis workshop is part of Edge Yoga School’s Trauma-Informed Series: Teaching Trauma-Informed Yoga to Special Populations.Ayurveda offers yoga teachers a rich framework for exploring patterns, rhythm, environment, sensory experience, and individualized support.A trauma-informed approach helps teachers use these principles without rigidly labeling students, making assumptions, diagnosing, or telling someone who they are. This practical workshop explores how Ayurvedic concepts can support more thoughtful yoga teaching through observation, curiosity, supportive language, meaningful choice, and respect for the student’s autonomy.Tea provides an approachable example of how rhythm, environment, sensory experience, and personal preference can be explored without prescribing a single correct choice.Participants will consider how the experience of selecting, preparing, and enjoying tea can invite greater awareness while preserving individual agency. Each workshop in the Trauma-Informed Series stands on its own. Participants do not need to attend all three sessions.WHAT YOU WILL LEARNObservation without judgmentCuriosity rather than diagnosisExploring rhythm, environment, and individual needsAvoiding rigid dosha labelsUsing supportive and invitational languageOffering choices based on observationAdapting pacing, sequencing, and atmosphereUsing tea as a sensory and reflective teaching toolRespecting personal preference and agencyApplying Ayurvedic principles within a yoga teacher’s scopeTrauma-informed Ayurveda invites teachers to notice patterns while remaining flexible, open, and respectful.
