Active recreation for the whole whanau!About this EventCome and explore the Reotahi Marine Reserve from above and below the waterline with the Mountains to sea team in partnership with Pacific Coast kayaks. We are running our first Dual Kayak and Snorkel Day at Reotahi Marine Reserve. Join us for a day of guided kayaking with Pacific Coast Kayaks, and snorkelling with our experienced volunteer guides. Fun for the whole whānau. Koha - donations are appreciated.We are once again offering a Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level guided snorkel trips through the reserve.Beginner: This trip will focus on the shallow waters near the reserve's main beach, which is great for young or nervous swimmers who want to try it.Intermediate: This trip will focus on the slightly deeper rocky reef areas further into the reserve, which is great for the more enthusiastic or older swimmers.Advanced: This trip will focus on the outer edges of the reserve, which have more tidal pull and deeper waters. This is great for confident, able-bodied, and experienced snorkelers.Pre-registrations are essential for both kayaking and snorkelling. The minimum age for kayaking is 7, and for snorkelling, it is 5. Please note that kayaking and snorkelling do not depart together—they are separate activities.Please choose your tickets wisely for your skill level. Spots are limited, and vetting will be done for health and safety reasons. The Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust - Experiencing Marine Reserves programme reserves the right to charge a fee for any 'no shows' for events requiring free bookings such as this Kayak Day.
