Join us for Tiaki Taiao Day at Ōpape Beach, a hands-on community day dedicated to caring for our whenua and moana, strengthening our connection to place, and leaving a meaningful legacy for future generations ? 

This event is brought to you in collaboration with Anikarere ki Tai – Ngai Tamahaua Hapū Environmental Group, DOC, ODC, and Tiaki Taiao ?

This is an opportunity for whānau, hapū, and the wider community to come together in the spirit of kaitiakitanga, working collectively to restore and enhance some of the most valued spaces in our rohe ? ?‍?‍?‍?

Our focus for the day includes: 
• Creating a safe and welcoming entranceway to the Tautarangi Walkway
• Clearing and maintaining parts of the track to improve accessibility and safety
• Cleaning up the beach by removing rubbish and debris

Whether you’re keen to get your hands dirty, contribute to the wellbeing of our environment, or simply spend time reconnecting with our whenua and each other, everyone is welcome, no experience needed! ???

What to bring:
• Covered shoes (essential for safety)
• Water bottle
• Gloves or tools if you have them (optional)
• A positive attitude and willingness to get involved

We’ll have light refreshments available ??

Come along, be part of something meaningful, and help us honour our taonga while building a foundation for the future. Together, we can uplift our environment, our stories, and our shared responsibility as kaitiaki ?️??
