Meet the Locals is your chance to discover what’s happening right here in Whakatāne, all under one roof.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, find support for your family, join a local club, give volunteering a go, or simply see what’s available, we’d love to see you there.

On the day you’ll be able to chat directly with around 40 local organisations, community groups and clubs covering all stages of life, from babies and young families through to older adults. It’s a relaxed opportunity to ask questions, make connections, collect information to take home and discover services and activities you may not have known existed.

Bring the whole family along. We’ll have a Kids’ Zone to keep the little ones entertained while you take your time exploring everything on offer. Coffee will also be available to purchase, so you can grab a hot drink while you have a look around.

The venue is accessible and everyone is welcome.

You don’t have to be looking to volunteer to come along. Maybe you’re new to the area, looking for a hobby, hoping to meet people, wanting support for your family, or simply curious about what’s available in our community. There’s something here for everyone.
