- **Event Description**: A small friendly & relaxed group, designed to help build your confidence in the sea. This session is designed for those just starting out on their sea swimming journey no matter what your swimming ability.
You will learn about safety in the water, how to judge when it is safe to swim and how to cope if something was to go wrong. You will also be advised on what you REALLY need to enjoy sea swimming, the essentials, the quite important and the "I just really want one of those" bits of kit.
Skins or wetsuits, everyone welcome. You must be confident swimming 25m in a pool (it doesn't have to be elegant!) We will also talk about anxieties and fears of sea swimming, seaweed, jellyfish, deep water, solid objects, even sharks , no fear is too small or insignificant if you are experiencing it.
The emphasis in this group is on enjoying the benefits of cold water immersion and having fun, under the guidance and watchful eye of a qualified SLSGB beach lifeguard and open water swimming coach.
