On Thursday, 7th August, Chris Lewis, the former British paratrooper known for his incredible 19,000-mile walk around the UK coastline, will be sharing his inspiring journey at The Veterans Hub Community Cafe. Joined by his partner Kate Barron, collectively known as The Wilderness Family, he'll recount tales from their epic adventures and sign copies of their latest book.
About Chris Lewis – “Chris Walks the UK”
In August 2017, Chris embarked on a solo journey to walk the entire UK coastline, aiming to raise £100,000 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. Facing personal challenges, including homelessness and mental health struggles, Chris found solace and purpose in his walk. Over six years, he traversed 19,894 miles, adopted a rescue dog named Jet, and met Kate, who joined him on the journey. Together, they completed the walk in July 2023, raising over £500,000 for SSAFA.
There will be food available on the night, Jacket Potatoes with either Chilli or Cheese and Beans or Plain!! Price between £3.50 and £6.95.
Please note The Hub is not selling tickets directly but Chris & Kate will have tickets available for purchase on the night for £12.00. You can respond to this event which will also give us an idea of numbers.
