About the event

Tumbling Down at 40
In celebration of its 40th Birthday Billy Roche will read from his ground-breaking novel TUMBLING DOWN on Thursday the 5th March. Passages will be read and characters will spring vividly to life- Davy Wolfe, Captain Crunch, Johnnie the musical shoemaker, the sedate Mister Martin from The Small Hotel etc. There will be a short Q and A, and don't be surprised if a song or two are twittered.

Pause and savour its felicities (The Irish Independent)

Dubliners with the cosmic gusto of Damon Runyan (The Irish Times)

A luminous and inspirational book (Conor McPherson)

A beautifully written real life fairytale - The reason I'm a writer (Eoin Colfer)

Roche's writing allows us to see, fleetingly, our fate in the world (Colm Tobin)

All proceeds will be used to support the production Of Mornington by Gary Lydon Productions in association with Ad Personam Cultural Events, running from 2nd- 4th April.
