Think Pokémon Go… but instead of staring at your phone, you’re getting outside, exploring Wewahitchka, discovering hidden stories, and creating memories with your family and friends.

This is your chance to become a Wewa History Hunter.

Families. Teenagers. New residents. Lifelong locals. Everyone is invited.

Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or you’re just getting to know our community, this is a fun way to explore the places, people, and stories that helped build Wewahitchka.

**How it works:**

? Sign up at **The Hitch** — the old gas/service station turned restaurant and bar — on **July 25th from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.**

When you sign up, you will receive your challenge cards and your adventure route.

Then the hunt begins.

Travel around town.
Visit historic locations.
Discover stories from Wewahitchka’s past.
Complete the challenges.
Collect your clues.
Build your **Heritage Hand**.

This is not a race.
Take your time.
Being back first just means you have to wait until 12pm. 

Bring your family.
Bring your friends.
Bring the teenagers who say there is “nothing to do.”

Learn something new about the place we call home.

At **12:00 PM**, we will judge the best **Heritage Hand** from participants who have successfully completed all challenge stops.

? The winning Heritage Hand earns bragging rights!

But the real competition is creativity.

? **Most Creative Route Picture Challenge**

Take your best photo along the journey and upload it to the event page to be considered.

Show us your funniest moment, your best team photo, your most creative stop, or the memory you made along the way.

? The community will help choose the winning photo.

**Entry: $5 per Heritage Hand**

This event has a purpose beyond just having fun.

Half of all money raised will go directly to the **School Closet** to help provide local teens with basic hygiene necessities.

The other half will support **Greater Gulf County Rural Heritage Alliance, Inc.**, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving our rural heritage, celebrating our communities, and creating opportunities through education and events.

This is the first year of what we hope becomes an annual tradition.

Next year, the challenge gets bigger.
