Grand Reopening 2026

We’re excited to reopen the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum for historic tours on March 28, 2026.

Gate opens at 9:00 a.m.
Main doors open at 9:30 a.m.
Walk-in historic tours begin at 10:00 a.m.

This season, our 1st Floor North Tour returns for its third year, featuring an extended route with new areas, fresh stops, and revised storytelling.

Our 90-minute Daytime Paranormal Tour returns in 2026 with a brand-new tour route and topics.

We have completed extensive renovations that further highlight the asylum’s history and architecture. Preserving our history and securing our future.

To celebrate opening day, the first 250 guests will receive a commemorative wine glass while supplies last.

Come see what’s changed, explore what’s new, and kick off the season with us at one of West Virginia’s most iconic historic sites.
