Samples, colours and designs for Christmas items will also be available.About this EventJoin us for one of our *final fused glass workshops together* where you can make your own unique and beautiful item for yourself or as a gift.*Our worshops this autumn are our last together as Sarah Quick is retiring and moving away from the area at the end of the year. Sarah Aumayer is planning to continue running local workshops on her own - details to follow.In this workshop you have the opportunity to choose the size of your glass and it's final design - left flat as a PICTURE, HANGER or COASTER or melted on a mould to create a CURVE - you decide on the day. Because our pre-Christmas workshops are usually in such high demand, we will offer festive colours, samples and designs at this workshop for "early bird" making.Suitable for complete beginners as well as those who’ve caught the fused glass bug! You will have up to 2 hours to create your masterpiece, some people will finish more quickly. In our experience, 2 hours is plenty of time to create something beautiful. This workshop is not suitable for children and we only accept bookings for people aged 16 and over. Additionally anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who also has a place booked on the workshop.In this workshop you'll create your own design on a pre-cut flat piece of glass of 15x15cm, 10x10cm or 23x7cm. If you choose the smallest (10x10cm) size you get 2 to make a pair of coasters or 2 small pictures. Our Christmas shapes are circles of 7cm diameter or tree shapes that are 15cm tall. 2 of these shapes are included in the workshop price. You'll see photos of these if you scroll down.We'll have lots of ideas to inspire you, including a selection of photos and our own work. The photos give you an idea of the type of designs that you might create. We'll show you some basic cutting techniques to create your shapes, and give you tips on how best to get the finished look. Uncomplicated designs tend to work best, the beauty of the glass enhances even the simplest of patterns.There will be the option to create an additional item on the day if you have time. The price, £20 or £10 will depend on the size of glass chosen.Custom made wooden stands can be purchased on the day if you'd like to display your glass (£3 - £5 dependent on design). Payments can be made by cash or card.This workshop will be run in the modern annex of Christchurch Church, 16 Montpelier, Weston Super Mare BS23 2RH.PLEASE NOTE - we'll take your finished piece away to be fused in a kiln. It will be available for collection a couple of weeks after the workshop. On the day we'll give options of when and where to collect. You can also choose to have your item posted to you for an additional charge of £5 payable on the day. Any items posted will be packaged in accordance with our normal standards but no responsibility can be taken if an item is damaged in the post.Refunds and cancellations - no refunds will be given if you cancel less than 7 days before the event.
