The event is a public bilingual conversation that is free and open to participants of all ages, backgrounds and levels of education.

Event title: Storytelling café: How do we practice activism every day?

Event description: This year, we explored Black and Indigenous activism in its various forms. To end this University of the Streets Café season, we invite you to come and share your stories and experiences with activism and the various ways it is present in your lives, the lives of those who came before, and the lives of those around you.

Join us for this public conversation as we explore the questions: do you, or those in your family, have experience with activist movements? Do you use writing as a form of protest or release? Has rest been incorporated into your routine as a form of protest or resistance? How do you practice activism in the everyday?

Description de l'évènement: Cette année, nous nous sommes intéressés aux différentes formes de militantisme pratiquées au sein des communautés noires et autochtones. Pour clôturer cette saison de L’université autrement : dans les cafés, nous vous invitons à nous faire part de vos histoires et de vos expériences en matière de militantisme, ainsi que des différentes façons dont celui-ci se manifeste dans votre vie, dans celle de vos aînés et dans votre entourage.

Rejoignez-nous pour cette conversation publique au cours de laquelle nous aborderons les questions suivantes : est-ce que vous ou des membres de votre famille avez déjà participé à des mouvements militants? Recourez-vous à l’écriture comme moyen de protestation ou comme exutoire? Le repos comme acte de résistance ou de protestation fait-il partie de vos habitudes? Comment pratiquez-vous le militantisme au quotidien?
