Over these four days, everyone is invited to spend time in their favorite places watching and counting as many birds as they can find and reporting data to the University of Cornell Lab of Ornithology. These observations help scientists better understand global bird populations before one of their annual migrations! 

? The City of Westfield's Parks and Recreation Department will be participating on Saturday, February 14. This free event is for anyone ages 12 and over, even first-time birders! A brief training and access to birding apps will be given, followed by a 2-mile hike while birding along the Midland Trace Trail, Simon Moon Park, and Asa Bales Park.

? Participants should arrive by 8:45 a.m. and will begin at the Cafe Pavilion Building at Grand Junction Plaza. Limited parking can be found along South Union, Mill, and Jersey Streets, which are all adjacent to the park. Additional parking can be found at the corner of Westfield Blvd. and Park Street, near the Westfield Washington Public Library.
