Public Lecture and Conversation with Julia Serano

Julia Serano, one of the founding figures of transgender studies and author of Whipping Girl: A Transsexual Woman on Sexism and the Scapegoating of Femininity, Excluded: Making Queer and Feminist Movements More Inclusive, and the recently published Outspoken: A Decade of Transgender Activism and Transfeminism, will be delivering a public lecture on Otterbein on Thursday, October 19th, at 4 pm in the Philomeathean Room. Serano will chart the course of her transition, share spoken word poetry and personal writing, and comment on the current political climate for the trans community. A Q and A, book signing, and light reception will follow her talk. Please join us for this very special visit and campus conversation.
