Come see, and meet the artists, at the show’s Opening Reception, Friday, September 4th, from 5-8pm.


Featured artist Lois Lawrence’s figurative oils  tell human stories revealed through gesture, light and atmosphere - while her evocative landscapes honor the beauty of the places she loves.  

Inspired by a Fauvist (French for wild beasts-a group of early 20th century artists including Matisse who used colors perceived as wild and shocking) exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum, featured artist R. Douglass Rice, a painter and sculptor, now sees his coastal home through a more vibrant, colorful new lens.


Over 50 of ACGOW’s elected artists will also participate in September’s show in a wide variety of 2- and 3-dimensional mediums.

And in the United in Art Community Gallery, don’t miss work by artists from the Tuesday Painting Group at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center in Pawcatuck, Connecticut, taught by Gallery artists Helen Roy and Paul Flanagan.
