Sea shanties have been garnering a resurgence in popularity in the last few years with Seán being one of the most popular artists worldwide in the genre. During this performance, Seán will take the audience on a seaward journey through worksongs interspersed with a few sea-themed ballads, accompanied by Seán on Irish bouzouki. Audiences will be invited to sing the "crew" responses to some of the most popular songs in the genre, bringing everyone together for a community experience of singing and hollering!  No previous shanty-singing experience is necessary. And “bad singers” are welcome–even necessary! Heave-away!Seán Dagher is an active performer and composer of music from various folk and classical music traditions: Celtic, Baroque, Medieval, Arabic, French-Canadian, and Maritime. He is a member of Skye Consort and is co-artistic director of La Nef.
