Description: Experience the power of rhythm and music-making through tap dance! In this master class, dancers will explore tap dance using classic jazz standards as our foundation, working in collaboration with a live pianist. Together, we’ll dive into musical forms in dance, improvisation, and how tap dancers embody both movement and musicianship on stage. The class will culminate in the creation of an original piece to be performed in the evening’s Works-in-Progress Showcase. Open to dancers of all levels, this class celebrates the intersection of dance and live music, inviting participants to step into rhythm, creativity, and collaboration.

Bio:Lillian is a lifelong performer, educator, choreographer, and director whose career spans the stage, screen, and studio. Trained from an early age by the Radio City Rockettes in precision tap and jazz, Lillian continued her studies at Muhlenberg College with a degree in Theatre & Dance training with legacy tap instructor Shelley Oliver and later going on to privately work with Linda Joy Sullivan. Lillian has performed for touring tap dance companies and has shared her artistry worldwide across a wide range of venues and styles. As an educator and director, Lillian has created original works, choreographed and directed productions for youth and adults, and guided students in voice, dance, and drama. Her teaching experience spans Mommy & Me dance classes through advanced tap, college-level theater courses, Regency-era group dance, and audition coaching, with many of her students now pursuing professional careers in the arts. Most recently, she served as Director of Theatre & Dance at Long Trail School in Dorset, VT, before shifting to independent work that balances her creative endeavors with the adventure of raising a family.
