Evening classes are held one night a week over seven weeks. During CERT Basic you will learn about the following topics:Preparedness - For disasters and every dayFire Safety, Use of Fire Extinguishers, & Hazmat AwarenessDisaster Medical Operations & TriageLight Search and RescueCERT Organization and Incident Command basicsBasic Disaster Psychological First Aid and Critical Incident Stress ManagementCERT Member Roles During Terrorism, Mass Casualty, and Active Shooter EventsParticipate In A Hands-On Disaster Simulation ExerciseCERT Basic training is a great opportunity for individuals, and service, community, and faith-based groups to easily and conveniently gain knowledge about preparedness, staying safe, and helping others in the event of an emergency or disaster.Ottawa County CERT is a volunteer organization chartered through the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Emergency Management. Most training sessions will occur at the Ottawa County Fillmore Complex, Main Conference Room located at 12220 Fillmore Street, West Olive, Michigan.
