Here’s a great opportunity to help give something back to the park fauna and flora (and get to know your fellow parkrunners a bit better) by volunteering to help remove invasive Balsam plants from around the park.
Every year the park rangers and local volunteers remove as much as possible but every year it comes back and if left unchecked would take over causing a real problem for our native biodiversity.
The park rangers have agreed to put on a volunteer session just for us! You’ll need to bring:
Sturdy boots or wellies
Stinging nettle-proof trousers, long sleeve top and gloves
Hat, sunscreen and drink (if sunny)
