Clackamas County is in the process of updating its Transportation System Plan (TSP). This is the plan for how anticipated funding will be used over the next 20 years to improve our road system including all of the roads, intersections, bike lanes, sidewalks, and more.

In January and February, we heard from over 1,000 community members about what’s important to them about getting around and what transportation improvements they’d like to see in the future. Since then, the project team has been reviewing these comments and problem spots noted on our road network.

More than 400 projects have been identified as needs to improve safety, reduce congestion and make travel easier to get to places that matter to you. We expect $633 million over the next 20 years but the needs we heard from the community far exceed what we’ll be able to afford. About 30 more potential project ideas were added based on community feedback this winter that came through either one-on-one outreach or regional meetings.

In June the county will have a draft list of projects located in areas outside cities to share with community members for feedback. You are invited to share your thoughts, preferences, and help the county prioritize those transportation projects for the next two decades. People can participate in person at one of five regional workshops and through a virtual open house. The virtual open house will be open from June 1-July 13. Details will be posted at https://www.clackamas.us/transportation/tsp-update. Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian and Ukrainian interpreters will be on site for this event.
