In this hands-on class, you'll learn the basics of the game, including tile identification, suits, winds, dragons, flowers, jokers, dealing, the Charleston, reading The Big Card and the National Mahjong League (NMJL) card, and the fundamental mechanics of play. We break the game into manageable pieces, explain the "why" behind the rules, and provide plenty of opportunities to ask questions. No prior experience is required. Whether you've never touched a tile or you've watched friends play and wondered what all the excitement was about, this class is designed to help you build confidence and start playing.Mahjong is more than a game—it's strategy, laughter, lifelong learning, and community.
