Walls, Esq. as well as honor inspirational leaders and community champions while recognizing our 2024 scholarship recipients.This year our honorees will include President Cynthia Teniente-Matson of San Jose State University, Indi Johnson (UCLA Men's Basketball Associate Director of Student-Athlete Success), legal trailblazer Margo Bouchet, Esq., and Coach Randy Hare (Monrovia High School).TWF was established in 2006 by Larry Dean Walls, Esq. to recognize and reward scholars and athletes who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and strong leadership skills in their communities. This 501(c)(3) charitable organization has three primary objectives:To identify and support scholar athletes with collegiate potential from historically underrepresented communities.To promote academic and athletic excellence throughout their high school careers.To provide recognition, encouragement, and scholarships to exemplary students.In August 2023 Mr. Walls lost his 14 year battle with prostate cancer. Since its inception TWF has recognized and awarded over 50 scholar athletes, and in 2024 TWF recommitted to the legacy of Mr. Walls by expanding the scope of the scholarship awards to include the Larry Dean Walls Legal Scholar Award to recognize exemplary young women from historically underrepresented communities desiring to pursue a legal career.
