The Scales started out in 2020 as four friends & Phans who one day decided to get together and jam on their favorite songs by their favorite band. The Buffalo-based foursome had such a good time that they decided to become a band, creating videos and live streaming their smooth, atonal sound, as the world waited out the Covid-19 pandemic from their homes.
Since then, The Scales have performed all around Western New York, including Borderland Music and Arts Festival, East Aurora Music Festival, and Buffalo Iron Works, respectfully performing the incredible compositions and unpredictable, improvisational journeys that anyone would expect to experience at any Phish show. Highlights include the April 2025 edition of Classic Vinyl Live with Jeff Miers at Sportsmens’ Tavern, where the band performed Phish’s iconic live album “A Live One” from front to back.
Come on out - we hope to see you sharing in the groove!

Stu & Judy Weinstein of Junior Jerry Jam, are community-minded, family-oriented, lovers & supporters of live music. The organization was founded naturally as a way to engage families in the music scene.
Founded in 2021, Junior Jerry Jam seeks to celebrate music in a family-friendly, multigenerational environment. The organization’s name is a tribute to the late Grateful Dead guitarist, singer and songwriter Jerry Garcia.
The Weinsteins have long been immersed in the Buffalo music scene and are familiar faces in concert clubs and at festivals representing a broad swath of musical idioms. And, though it might seem incongruous to the uninitiated, the two have seamlessly folded their love and support for live music into a lifestyle that emphasizes the importance of family above all else.
