- **Event Description**: Join Dr Anne Monsour, historian, author, and President of the Queensland Branch of the Australian Lebanese Historical Society (ALHS) as she leads a walking tour of West End and South Brisbane highlighting the Lebanese presence, influence, and legacy since the 1880s. 

This fascinating walk uncovers stories of the ‘Syrian’ hawkers and shopkeepers of the nineteenth century through the twentieth century to the present day, highlighting stories of entrepreneurs, hard work, community spirit and family businesses many of which are household names in Brisbane. 

The tour concludes at St Clement’s Melkite Catholic Church followed by morning tea.

When: Sunday 14 June 2026
Time: 9.30 am – 11.30 am
Where: Meeting point 74 Hardgrave Street, West End (quick bus trip from Cultural Centre Bus Station – details to be provided with acknowledgement of registration)
Finish point: St Clement’s Melkite Catholic Church, 74 Ernest St, South Brisbane
Cost: $20 ($15 for ALHS members)
