- **Event Name**: In The Stacks with Carol Roh Spaulding
- **Event Start and End Date**: Mon, 17 Nov, 2025 at 06:30 pm – Mon, 17 Nov, 2025 at 07:30 pm
- **Event Description**: The Library is very happy to welcome author Carol Roh Spaulding! She will talk about how and why she did the research for her historical novel, Helen Button. This story has a dual time narrative (one set in the 1930s and the other decades later in contemporary Paris) which explores the domestic spaces and relational dynamics of people enduring wartime. She will also explain how one research question about Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas grew into a novel which asks how we, as ordinary people, respond (or fail to respond) to the conflicts and injustices of war.

Carol Roh Spaulding is the author of Waiting for Mr. Kim and Other Stories, winner of the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction, and other awards. Books will be for sale after the program. No registration required.
