One Alternative

Experience the distinctive sound of ONE ALTERNATIVE, an ensemble born in 1983 when an oboist and two guitarists set out to create music unlike anything else on the acoustic scene. Today, original members Jill Haley (oboe) and Mark Oppenlander (guitar) are joined by violinist Dana Allaband, bassist Chico Huff, and drummer Tony Deangelis to deliver a rich, layered sound they call acoustic fusion.

Blending the structure of classical composition with the improvisational spirit of jazz and the drive of rock, their music is dynamic, expressive, and constantly evolving. This special performance features selections spanning 43 years of composing and performing throughout the Philadelphia region — a captivating journey for listeners who appreciate artistry, innovation, and musicianship.
