This in-person training will address ethical considerations in addiction treatment.

About this Event

Training will be held in Conference Room 351 West (3rd Floor)

This course will address ethical considerations in addiction treatment. In protecting the client, the agency and the counselor from litigation, the counselor must have knowledge and understanding of State and Federal laws and regs governing treatment of the person with substance use disorder, and the HIV positive client. The topic of court mandated clients will be addressed, as well as general concerns about counselor/client limitations and boundaries. Boundary violations will be discussed. By the end of the training the participant will: 1) Become familiar with Acts 63 and 148; 2) Become familiar with 42 CFR; 3) Become familiar with at least two ethical theories; 4) Discuss their own ethical limitations and boundaries.

Morning refreshments, lunch and afternoon snacks will be provided.
