This family-friendly event is open to participants of all ages, offering a fun and active way to contribute to the preservation of our beautiful park while connecting with fellow nature lovers.
Our main tasks for the day include cleaning up the  trail and tackling invasive species, with a focus on removing the notorious Bush Honeysuckle that threatens the park’s ecosystem. For those who love a good bonfire, we’ll also try burning a huge pile of invasive species that we've previously gathered (if weather permits), making this event not only about maintenance but also about restoration and renewal of the natural landscape.
Please remember to come prepared! We recommend bringing gloves if you have them to assist with the removal of brush, along with water, weather-appropriate clothing, and sunglasses for eye protection. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get some fresh air, exercise, and a sense of accomplishment by helping preserve our local trails.
Should the weather turn unfavorable, the event will be canceled, but we’re hoping for clear skies and good company. Registration is required, so please call Starr’s Cave at (319) 753-5808 to let us know you’re coming. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or a first-timer, we’d love to have you with us!
