This session features Dr. James Lattis of the University of Wisconsin, presenting Eyes on the Skies: The Current Night Sky, What to Watch for, How to Observe It as part of the Badger Talks program. Dr. Lattis holds a Ph.D. in the history of science from UW and helped create UW Space Place, the university's astronomy outreach and public education center, which he directed until its closing in 2025. He manages the historic Washburn Observatory, teaches astronomy and its history, and is a frequent guest on Wisconsin and National Public Radio. He'll guide the audience through the current night sky, covering what to watch for and how to get the most out of stargazing — whether with the naked eye, binoculars, or a telescope.
