This 4-day intensive training will provide the tools for teachers to deliver safe, creative and nurturing classes to women during all stages of their pregnancies – whether you’re integrating pregnant students into your class or teaching dedicated pre-natal classes. Each day will contain group practice and experience of prenatal yoga, lectures, group exercises and teaching practice. There will be additional non-contact hours in the form of assignments and class observations to give time to reflect on and integrate the learning from the course.
The course will cover:
Teaching pre-natal yoga classes
Integrating a pregnancy student into a general class
Anatomy and physiology during each stage of pregnancy
Emotional considerations and changes during pregnancy
Common conditions and ailments during pregnancy and how to adapt practice with these
Pranayama, meditation and relaxation for pregnancy
This is a 50-hour training course for the purposes your continuous professional development/further training hours (please check individual requirements of your regulatory body – ie YAP, BWY, IYN etc).
Bio: Dawn Wright is a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals UK who has been training other yoga teachers for many years, teaching on 200hour training courses and further training/CPD for teachers around the UK. She has been teaching pregnancy yoga classes and running birthing preparation workshops for many years and studied under Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. As a mother of 3 she practiced yoga throughout all of her pregnancies and found it to be a powerful tool both physical and emotionally during this time. Dawn is passionate about supporting women during this special time. She is known as a trainer that is warm, supportive and practical, giving teachers the real world skills they need to deliver safe and creative yoga classes.
