- **Event Description**: Our next General Membership meeting will be on September 15th.  The meeting will be held at the Wentzville Community Club, 500 W. Main, Wentzville.

During the Civil War, Missouri was a border state, and its Black residents were not legally freed until January 11, 1865. Before that date, African Americans could only seek freedom through the Underground Railroad. 

Join us and local author and genealogist Dorris Keeven‑Franke as she shares powerful stories of African American residents in St. Charles County - their communities, their lives, and their final resting places.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a catered meal for $20.  Bring your friends and neighbors – everyone is welcome.  For dinner reservations, please contact Bill Vehige at 636-272-5506 by Thursday, September 10th, or you can email at WentzvilleCHS@mail.com.  In your email, put Meal Reservation in the subject line.  In the body of the email, state the number of reservations needed and the names of each individual.  The doors open at 6pm and the program will begin at approximately 7:15pm. 

VALENTI'S MARKET will provide a buffet style meal.  It is important that you order your meal ahead of time if you'd like to eat.
