About the event

Furnaces to Follies: History Hike

Explore the area of Elsecar and Wentworth with a five-hour history hike!

We will share the story of industrial heritage and highlight some key areas. These include the Follies of Hoober Stand, Keppel’s Column and Needle’s Eye as well as the village of Wentworth.

The walking tour starts from 10am at Elsecar and costs £12 per person.

Please wear suitable clothing including sturdy footwear or trainers. We would also recommend bringing your own refreshments and water bottles. The walk also includes uneven ground, hills, and stiles.
