Friday:
Friday we will begin setting up in the morning. We anticipate the venue being completely set up by 1:00 PM and hope to see players trickling through the door. During this time, we will have open boards to get warmed up for the weekend and Sit N Go tournaments for those ready to start competing.

Weekend Kickoff Women/Junior/Senior Mixed Tournament at 2:00 PM
We wanted to start the weekend off with a fun event. We will be hosting a Senior and Women/Junior tournament. Each team must consist of a junior or woman paired up with a senior player. We thought this would be a fun event to kickstart the competition for players arriving early and allowing the rest of the players time to travel. During this time, we will be continuously hosting Sit N Go tournaments for players arriving. The registration booth will be open as well and would be a great time to answer all questions about the weekend or help players get registered for events.

Blind Draw at 6:00 PM (All Tiers)
The main event Friday will be the Blind Draw tournament starting at 6:00 PM. At this time, the registration will be closed for all tiers, and the admin will begin sorting the events out for each tier before generating the teams. Please allow a few minutes after registration closing to make sure event have even player counts and to make sure no one who intended on playing in this tournament is NOT in the event. Shifting players up/down a tier when an event has odd numbers helps reduce the number of ghosts in each tier and missing a player means we must regenerate the teams when it is discovered, which no one likes. That said, the “Check In” process is very important for players to pay attention to the check in text announcements and make sure they are checking into their events throughout the weekend.

Round Robin Throughout the Weekend
Whether or not an event gets round robin games and how much time allows for the number of rounds, will be a decision made by a group of directors/admin as the tournament is unfolding. Players should expect most round robin games throughout the weekend to be limited rounds from 12 to 18 rounds. This ensures that the round robin moves smoothly and we can get to the bracket in a timely manner. Round robin games are used to acquaint partners, figure out which bags are right for the environment, and to get warmed up. We always like to start the day with a couple round robin games to get everyone ready for bracket play but as the day progresses, players should be warmed up and have their favorite bags figured out for the boards.

Saturday:
The doors will open at 9:00 AM with the boards ready to start warming up on and the registration booth open for event registrations or questions.

Set Teams “BYOP” at 10:00 AM (All Tiers)
The first event on Saturday will be the BYOP tournament for all tiers. The registration will close at 10:00 AM and the round robin events will begin to be generated for each tier before the round robin games begin.

“Battle of the Regions” Tournament at 3:00 PM
This year we’re trying something new, a battle to see who has the best region in the state. Each Regional Director has been tracking the players throughout the season in an ACL “Tour”. This is a point driven ranking earned by playing in the region’s regional tournaments. The more you played in this region and the higher you placed, the more points you got throughout the season. The top 20 players from each region will have the opportunity to represent the region they qualified for. If a player has qualified in the top 20 in multiple regions, the region they are the highest on the list for will be the region they are playing with. If a player is removed from a list for this reason or they cannot attend the state tournament, the next player in line will fill the spot until each region has a complete team of 20 players. We’re hoping to see all the players in this event wearing their state jersey and representing their region’s color. This will be an easy way to identify who everyone is playing for throughout the tournament. The winning team will get a championship jersey, bragging rights, and possibly more.

Women, Junior, Senior Singles at 5:00 PM
Women, Junior, and Senior singles registration will be closing at 5:00 PM and the brackets will be getting generated shortly after.

After Party at Riverhouse Cigar Bar
After the tournaments have concluded for the day, the fun is not over. We will have boards set up at the Riverhouse Cigar for open format play, cash games, side games, Sit N Go, and possibly a formal event if time allows. These tournaments will be cash tournaments and in-person registration on site. At this time, the establishment cannot allow minors.

Sunday:
The doors will open at 9:00 AM with the boards ready to start warming up on and the registration booth open for event registrations or questions.

Singles at 10:00 AM (All Tiers)
Sunday will have the longest event of the weekend, singles. For that reason, it will be the only event on Sunday to allow players ample time to travel home after the tournament. Singles is where we get to crown the best players in the state. 1 vs 1, mano a mano, players will battle to see who the best player per tier in the state is.

General Tournament Information:

Registration Tiering
Registration tiering will be driven the ACL’s CPI. The is a stat driven performance index for each individual player throughout their last 3 years playing in the ACL. In most events, players will be limited to registering in the tier their CPI qualifies them for, or they can decide to play up. Players cannot play in a lower tier than their CPI qualifies them for. This helps eliminate players playing down to win tournaments. The Blind Draw tournament is the one exception where players will be limited to register in the tier they qualify only. This is in place so the skill level across all players in each blind draw event are reasonably close to each other.

Tournament Timing
The scheduled times for the events to start are our best estimate. Without knowing final registration counts per event and cornhole games not having a set length of time to them, directors must take a calculated guess for each event. The admin and directors will work as a team to do our best to stay on schedule all weekend. Please be at the venue an hour before scheduled times to allow time to get registered and checked in properly, warm up, and be present if there are any changes to the event times.
