WISE Workshop: Autism & Toileting

This practical session is designed to help parents understand how autism can affect toileting development. We’ll explore common challenges, share supportive strategies, and offer guidance on how to work together with early years settings to create consistency and confidence for your child.

In this workshop, we’ll cover:
* How autism can impact toileting routines and progress.
* Why some children may struggle with awareness, communication, or sensory aspects.
* Practical strategies to support toileting at home and in early years settings.
* Creating a supportive, pressure-free approach to toileting.

These sessions are open to all parent carers in Somerset who have a child with additional needs and/or a disability.
