Seated Sound Bath – Deep Listening & Relaxation
Join us for a calming and restorative Sound Bath at Wells Cathedral, offering space to pause, rest, and be immersed in sound.
This is a seated, guided listening experience where participants are invited to relax deeply while listening to the resonant tones of gongs and other sound instruments. There is no active participation required — simply settling in and allowing the sound to wash over you.
Led by expert facilitators Jo Coomber and Emma Wheat, the session is thoughtfully held to support relaxation, ease, and a sense of uplift. The powerful yet gentle nature of the gongs encourages stillness, reflection, and nervous-system calm, making this a nourishing experience for both body and mind.
To protect the quiet, spacious nature of the session, this Sound Bath is designed for adults only, offering participants the opportunity for uninterrupted rest.
The 45-minute session provides a focused window of calm — a chance to step out of the busy pace of the day and into a carefully curated sound environment, held with warmth, skill, and sensitivity.

Who it’s for: Adults (please note that Sound Baths are not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy or for those who experience tinnitus).
Previous experience needed: None
What to bring: Nothing, a chair will be provided! If you wish to bring a cushion to enhance your comfort, please do. This is a seated sound bath so we ask you not to bring yoga mats etc.
This is your chance to slow down, listen deeply, and enjoy the grounding, uplifting power of sound in a beautiful and resonant space. Early booking is advised.
