The Strawberry Line Society is keen to support our partners, Greenways & Cycleroutes Ltd. who are organising an inaugural Somerset Circle Discovery Cycle Ride on 18-19th April 2026, which aims to promote the concept of the Somerset Circle using a sample route for cyclists.  
 
A small group of dedicated riders will depart Bath Abbey heading to Midsommer Norton and then Shepton Mallet, before passing along the Strawberry Line on the afternoon of Saturday 18th April passing through Wells before stopping in Cheddar overnight. The riders will then continue the morning of Sunday 19th April to Clevedon via Yatton, and then onwards towards Bristol to complete the Somerset Circle back to Bath Abbey.   
 
There will be a chance for the public, Strawberry Line volunteers, supporters, and members to meet the riders at various stops between Bath and Clevedon over the two days, where the Strawberry Line Society will be present to welcome the riders. At our reception stops, local dignitaries will be attending
 
If you wish to join the ride or purely meet the riders, more details and locations can be found here – but please put 18-19th April 2026 in your calendar to join us and cheer on the small team as they cycle through your area.
 
The Strawberry Line Society is keen to show our overwhelming support for the Somerset Circle initiative, and how the concept is developed into a viable route for all users to enjoy. Linked to our core agenda of supporting Active Travel for our communities and enabling wider connections beyond the Strawberry Line, including into the Mendip Hill National Landscape.
