The secret to a flawless fit is finally here. I am thrilled to welcome Stephen to Needle Nooks tutor team!
Stephen is launching an exclusive 4-week Tailoring Masterclass designed to take your craft to the next level. Learn the art of structure and precision.

“Taught by a former Savile Row tailor, 4 weekly day-long sessions will cover the fundamentals of traditional tailoring and show how its techniques and approach differ from dressmaking.

Learning these techniques and practicing these skills, you'll make examples to refer to for your future sewing projects. In particular, knowledge of tailoring methods will improve the finish of what you make.

Note: hand sewing and the use of a thimble is fundamental to tailoring and will be used throughout.
Sewing machines are also used. These are provided but you can bring your own if you prefer (sessions 2, 3 & 4)

Materials you'll use are provided and the shop is available for anything else you might need. Please do bring any sewing kit you normally use (Tailors thimbles are provided or are available to buy).

Although there is plenty of hand sewing, some previous experience of using a sewing machine would help you get the best from the classes.

Areas covered include:
- Mark stitching
- Different hand stitches and their uses (including pad stitching)
- Darts
- Pockets
- Pressing
- Hand worked buttonholes ... and more

• Cost £65 per session.
• Tea and coffee making available. Cafés nearby or bring your own lunch.

A future optional Course 2 will offer the chance to make a garment of your choice using the skills and techniques from Course 1.”
