- **Event Description**: Joe Bleakley is a veteran community arts events maker and artist. On his return to Te Whanganui-a-Tara in the early 80's his first foray was a fireworks show on the harbour. Subsequently, with new friends and new momentum the event evolved into The Wellington Sun Festival - a large-scale community event held in Oriental Bay on December 17th, 1983.

Joe will present a slideshow and talk covering preproduction through to the finale of the festival (approx 1hr duration) before presenting an idea for a new Wellington Festival and inviting feedback.
