Winterman is back!

It's become a club tradition, this time with a slightly different course to make use of the new facilities we have in our beautiful Welly.
Whether you're preparing for a long-course event, building fitness through winter, or simply keen to spend a quality day training alongside fellow club members, Winterman is all about getting together, challenging yourself, and enjoying some solid miles with good company.

You can tackle:

🏅 The Full Monty (Half Ironman-style distance)

or

🔀 Pick & Mix – choose the distances and disciplines that you feel like doing on the day, no stress :)

The Full Monty

For those wanting the full experience:

🏊 Ocean Swim – 15–20 minutes (conditions permitting)

🚴 90km Bike Ride

Start from Freyberg
Follow the new cycleway to then over Wainui Hill
Out along the Coast Road to the turnaround point at the end of the road before 
returning to Freyberg
Approximately 90km total

🏃 21km Run

Freyberg to the Wind Needle at Evans Bay, full course does two laps and Olympic does one lap. 

Not keen on the full distance? No problem.

You can:

Skip the swim or swim later
Do an ocean swim or use the pool afterwards
Ride only to Point Howard (40k roundtrip) for a shorter bike option, then one lap run from Freyberg to the needle and back. 

Join for just one discipline or any combination that suits

The aim is participation. Come along (you'll push yourself harder when you train with others) and make the most of a great winter day out.

We'd love to see you there!

This is not an official Tri Wellington event. There is no entry fee, timing, marshals, or event management. Everyone takes part at their own risk and is responsible for their own safety and decisions. Tri Wellington volunteers will simply be there joining in alongside everyone else.
